LORI KELLY'S DAYCARE
A DAY IN THE LIFE
IMAGINATIVE PLAY AND
LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT
Imagination and play take up a majority of our day. There is a dedicated playroom full of fun toys for kids of all ages! I focus on making play educational by having "letters of the week", story time, "music class", dress-up, and crafts.
MEAL TIME
AND MANNERS

Meal time is a big part of our day - I serve a nutritious breakfast, lunch, and snack both in the morning and afternoon. Sitting around the table with friends is a highlight of the day and a great opportunity to work on manners. I work with the kids to ensure they say "please", "thank you", and other basic etiquette.
OUTDOOR PLAY
AND FUN
Spending time outside and getting fresh air is good for the soul - we go outside at least once a day (weather permitting). With a playhouse, sandboxes, riding toys, and room to run, being outside is a great way to recharge!
MISSION STATEMENT
From language and social skills to manners and creativity, the kids at my Daycare are constantly being exposed to new activities in which to thrive. I work to build on the strengths and interests of each child to help build a solid foundation where they can develop their futures.

My #1 goal is that once they leave my Daycare, they’re fully prepared for the next stage of their young lives.
MY STORY
Working as a caretaker is what I'm most passionate about and something that comes naturally to me. I grew up babysitting kids and got my first job at Friendship Village, a nursing home, where I started working as a waitress. After getting my license as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), I stayed at Friendship Village and transitioned into the healthcare side of things.

After working as a CNA for four years, I received an opportunity to work as a nanny full-time for a family with three kids who were four, two, and three months old. I spent five years with this family and consider myself very lucky to have been such a big part of their lives - getting to help raise them and watch them grow up into such great kids was the most rewarding part of the job.

Starting a Daycare has been a long-term goal of mine as I have a passion for childcare and have always wanted to run my own business. Though I don't have kids yet, this will also provide me with the opportunity to have them home with me in the future.
ABOUT ME
My husband Mickey and I got married in 2017. We've been together since high school and have a total of nine nieces and nephews. We're very family oriented and have a lot of family members who live nearby in Bloomington where we both grew up.
Outside of work, we like to spend time going to our families cabins, Wild games, doing home improvement projects, and just hanging out at home with our dog, Milo and cat, Yara. No kids yet, but planning for them in the future!
